Designing an Album

Hey friends!

I’d like to walk you through the process of designing your wedding album together.

Firstly, the wedding album is a separate purchase. It costs $1150 (discounted to $950 if purchased before the wedding) and includes the first 10 spreads, however, most couples choose to add extra spreads to their album. As standard, the album includes:

  1. A 10x10” handmade, fine art wedding album

  2. The time to design and manufacture the album

  3. A range of cover materials at no extra cost. Premium leather material upgrades are available for $150.

  4. A complimentary signature engraving design unique to my brand or an option to provide your custom engraving design (starting at $100).

Most couples choose to add extra spreads to their album. As a guide, I’ve listed the prices for different-sized albums below. Each additional spread is $65 but you’ll find that it will be cheaper to buy blocks of 10 spreads. A spread is 2 pages or in other words, the left and right sides of the page. Your album can have a maximum of 45 spreads.

10 spreads - $1150 (base album)
20 spreads - $1750 ($600 extra)
30 spreads - $2250 ($1100 extra) [most popular choice]
40 spreads - $2650 ($1500 extra)
45 spreads - $2800 ($1650 extra)

Duplicate parent albums that are 8x8” in size are available for $650 for 1 or $600 each when ordering 2 or more. The price does not change no matter how many spreads you have!

Every album comes in a raw/black linen presentation box, wrapped in linen. The cover of this box can also be engraved!

Custom Engraving

When providing your own custom design for the cover engraving, you can choose to engrave just the front cover, the back and the front cover or all over the album, including the spine. The cost of each option is listed below:

Front only - $100
Front and back - $150
All over - $200

If you’d like for me to provide a custom design for you, it’ll cost $250. This includes the design fee and engraving costs.

Each cover material engraves differently and is far more detailed than any foiling or debossing. This allows us to use designs with much finer detail.

Time Frames

We want to get your album into your hands ASAP and don’t want it to be something that finally gets organised a year or even several years down the track. You can expect to have your album within 10 weeks of receiving your photos. We do this by having the following time frames:

  1. You have 2 weeks from when you receive your photos to select your favourites and fill out the album pre-design preferences form.

  2. I’ll design your album within a week of receiving your favourites and pre-design preferences form and send a draft through for approval.

  3. We will have 2 weeks to make any changes you’d like before you approve the album (we can have a maximum of 3 revisions from the first draft).

  4. Upon approval of your album, the album goes to print and will be ready about 3 weeks later. Any additional costs to the base album will need to be paid prior to delivery of your album.

No two weddings are the same. I believe no two wedding albums should be either.

Designing Your Album

First, you’ll need to log into your Pic-Time gallery using your email and favourite the images you’d like to include in your album. Once you’ve done so, complete the pre-design preferences form. In this form, you’ll choose your engraving option, cover material and your preferred album size (10, 20, 30 or up to 45 spreads).

For the base album, I recommend choosing between 50-100 photos that will be used as a starting point. I also recommend choosing favourites from each part of the wedding day e.g. prep, ceremony, portraits and reception. I will use anywhere between 1-5 photos per spread and my aim is to tell the story of your wedding day. Keep in mind that not every image you favourite will be included in the original design.

For a larger album, I recommend choosing up to 200 images as a starting point. With a larger album, we’ll be able to include more images whilst allowing every image enough space to breathe and shine. If you’d like me to design an album that I feel best tells the story, keep in mind that this can end up as a 45-spread album which costs a further $1650.

To give you an idea of what an album will look like, a 10-spread album might look a little like this:

  1. Opening spread of a photo you love

  2. Partner 1 getting ready

  3. Partner 2 getting ready

  4. Ceremony

  5. Group photos/bridal party

  6. Couple photos

  7. Couple photos

  8. Reception

  9. Dancing

  10. Final spread

By adding more spreads, we’re able to include multiple spreads for each part of the wedding and tell a more in-depth story.

Any upgrades (premium covers, additional spreads, custom engravings etc.) will be invoiced with a 50% deposit due upon placing the order and the remainder due when the album is ready.

An album is more than just a ‘photo book’. It’ll be the first heirloom you create together as a married couple and something you’ll share with friends and family. It’s the best way to relive your wedding day for years to come so you can bet you’re getting the best album possible.

I look forward to seeing you and designing your album!

-Matt
